Installing a Standalone License

You can install a standalone (node-locked) license on your computer.

  1. Start your Composer application.

The Composer - Licensing dialog box appears when a license is not installed.

Note: If you are running the free Composer Player and want to enable Player Pro features, click Help > Register Composer Player Pro License.

  2. In the Composer - Licensing dialog box, under Registration, click Register.

  3. In the Composer - Registration dialog box, click Install a License.

The Register License dialog box appears.

  4. If you do not have a license file:

    • If the Register License dialog box has a Request License File by E-mail button:
      1. Click Request License File by E-mail.
      2. Provide your professional contact information and send the e-mail.
      3. When you receive your license, continue this procedure.
    • Otherwise:
      1. Contact your sales representative and provide your host ID (Hostid on the Register License dialog box).
      2. When you receive your license, continue this procedure.

  5. Drag the license file onto the Open License Folder button and click OK twice.

The default Composer license folder is: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Dassault Systemes\CATIAComposer\License

Tip: You can put the license file in a different location and then specify the location by defining the environment variable SEEMAGE_LICENSE_FILE . Set environment variables in Windows from Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environment Variables.

Notes:

  • You cannot use standalone licenses from virtual displays (remote terminal services).
  • You must have administrator rights to install a license.
